About Mocktail O'Clock

Mocktail O’Clock is a zero proof drinks library for people who love the ritual of a good drink and are skipping the alcohol, tonight or for good. Every classic cocktail gets rebuilt at zero proof, every recipe names the bottle that carries it, and every drink includes a homemade fallback so nobody needs to buy a thing to pour something great.

Who this is for

The Dry January crowd and the Damp January crowd. Designated drivers who are tired of soda water. Pregnant hosts who still want something beautiful in their own hand at their own party. Anyone who has ever thought, I love the drink, I just do not want the morning after.

How the rankings work

Pinky cannot taste, and this site will never pretend otherwise. Bottle rankings in By the Bottle run on a published rubric: price per ounce, calories and sugar, ingredient quality, how widely the bottle is stocked, and verified buyer ratings. The rubric is on every ranking page, the scores follow it, and when a bottle is great value or poor value, the numbers say why.

What zero proof means here

Drinks made without alcohol. Some zero proof bottles and bitters carry trace amounts, under 0.5% ABV, which is roughly what you would find in a ripe banana or a glass of orange juice. Every recipe page carries a short note about it, and the recipes always include a from scratch base for anyone who wants a drink with nothing to check at all.
